Running a frontier farm required more than just a horse and plow.  Various tasks such as grinding corn, sheep shearing, and milking were a part of everyday life. The Pioneers were clever people who relied on Earth’s natural resources to survive.  From using plants materials for medicines to salvaging animal bones for utensils, recycling was also a vital part of farm life and survival.  In recognition of Farmers and to celebration Earth Day, come and visit the Historic Daniel Boone Home at Lindenwood Park where the frontier comes to life.  Browse produce and plants from local farmers and artisans who rely on many of the same methods the pioneers once did.  Try hands on activities such as candle dipping, butter making, corn grinding, and tomahawk throwing to learn about the Farming Ways of the Frontier.  Admission is $5 adults, $3 children, and under 5 is free.  

We will be providing some toe tapping music on the hammered dulcimer, guitar and fiddle to enhance your visit; come and join the fun !
